In a profoundly Orwellian ruling, de Perthuis insisted that Le Pen\u2019s<em> <\/em>actions amounted to a<em> <\/em>\u201cserious and lasting attack on the rules of democratic life in Europe.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the obvious concerns that the courts have yet again applied double standards of justice to punish populist leaders, the lawfare represents a direct and coordinated attack, amplified by state-funded media, against the will of the people of France.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the wake of Le Pen\u2019s conviction, state-funded media, from <a href=\"http:\/\/npr\/\">NPR<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/live\/cwyewv8xdp7t\">BBC<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/free-marine-le-pen-says-donald-trump-voices-support-convicted-far-right-leader\/\"><em>Politico<\/em><\/a>, and supposedly neutral wires like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/trump-offers-support-french-far-right-leader-le-pen-after-her-conviction-2025-04-04\/\">Reuters<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ap.org\/news-highlights\/spotlights\/2025\/french-far-right-leader-marine-le-pen-barred-from-seeking-office-for-5-years-a-political-earthquake\/\">Associated Press<\/a>, have tagged Le Pen with the label of \u201cFAR-RIGHT,\u201d a not-so-subtle association with fascism and Nazism. The editors collectively ignore that they are labeling a plurality of the country as extremists given that polls show Le Pen is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.com\/publication\/les-intentions-de-vote-a-lelection-presidentielle-5\/?utm_source=substack&amp;utm_medium=email\">fifteen points ahead<\/a> of the second-most popular candidate in the 2027 Presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what are the French citizens\u2019 <em>far-right <\/em>impulses that the press corps denounces in every headline? On immigration, the<em> New York Times <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/06\/23\/world\/europe\/the-nation-resurgent-and-borders-too.html\">explains<\/a> that the National Rally believes that \u201cnations need effective borders that can be sealed tight.\u201d In foreign policy, NPR<em> <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/06\/30\/nx-s1-5024254\/france-elections-far-right-national-rally-leads-macron-le-pen\">warns<\/a> that Le Pen\u2019s position \u201cwould include stopping French deliveries of long-range missiles to Ukraine.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For economics, the Associated Press<em> <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/france-election-jordan-bardella-far-right-program-72509a38e75910f0632c67a6a6a94236\">cites<\/a> the party\u2019s pledges to \u201cdefend purchasing power by cutting taxes on fuel, gas and electricity\u201d as well as tax cuts for companies increasing domestic wages. Evidently, this pro-sovereignty, anti-war, working-class coalition represents an existential threat to the global cabals of power, which now rely on their media stenographers to smear their opponents.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Increasingly, we learn that the public has been unknowingly funding these outlets through tax dollars and USAID disbursements. <a href=\"https:\/\/brownstone.org\/articles\/usaid-and-the-architecture-of-perception\/\">These expenditures<\/a> have included $34 million to Politico, extensive payments to the <em>New York Times<\/em>, and direct funding to BBC Media Action. As Josh Stylman writes at Brownstone, USAID\u2019s chief mission has been to act as \u201can architect of global consciousness.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That architecture relies on tarnishing the reputation of France\u2019s most popular political party as its ruling class ignores the domestic instability it has spawned.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Pen\u2019s popularity stems in large part from the French government\u2019s longstanding disregard for its citizens&#8217; desire to reduce immigration. As of April 2023, 82% of the French (including 81% of 18-24-year-olds) <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanconservative.com\/articles\/news\/poll-more-than-8-in-10-french-favor-immigration-law-facilitating-deportations\/\">support<\/a> an immigration law facilitating deportations. Seven in 10 French citizens <a href=\"https:\/\/brusselssignal.eu\/2025\/02\/seven-in-10-french-citizens-want-immigration-referendum-poll-finds\/\">want<\/a> a national referendum on immigration. And as <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanconservative.com\/articles\/news\/macron-pushing-for-referendum-but-not-on-immigration\/\">leaders ignore<\/a> those pleas, voters increasingly turn toward the country\u2019s foremost immigration restrictionist. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifop.com\/publication\/les-intentions-de-vote-a-lelection-presidentielle-5\/?utm_source=substack&amp;utm_medium=email\">poll<\/a> last week showed that Le Pen is the leading candidate across all age groups for the 2027 Presidential election. As of last year, she <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6989622\/france-eu-europe-far-right-elections\/\">held<\/a> a 27 percentage-point lead over President Macron\u2019s Renaissance Party among voters under 34.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This popularity is unsurprising given the ramifications of mass third-world immigration in France. Earlier this year, a Parisian theater <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-14282399\/French-theatre-bankruptcy-250-African-migrants-refused-leave-remain-building.html#\">declared bankruptcy<\/a> after hundreds of African migrants moved in and refused to leave for months. Reports <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanconservative.com\/articles\/news\/foreigners-responsible-for-77-of-solved-rape-cases-in-paris-in-2023\/\">consistently<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanconservative.com\/articles\/news\/paris-foreign-nationals-committed-70-of-violent-robberies-in-1st-half-of-2022\/\">show<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanconservative.com\/articles\/news\/92-of-thefts-and-62-of-sexual-assaults-in-paris-regional-transport-committed-by-foreign-nationals\/\">that<\/a> foreigners account for over 70% of violent robberies, thefts, and rapes in the French capital city.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But rather than respond to voters\u2019 concerns, French and European leaders have attacked their critics for dissenting against their wildly unpopular immigration initiatives. A series of terrorist attacks, including Charlie Hebdo, the November 2015 Paris attacks, and the 2016 Bastille Day attacks have killed hundreds in the last decade.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Radical Islam, violent crime, and depleted public resources have naturally led to massive support for immigration restrictionists, but France has accelerated its demographic change despite its population\u2019s overwhelming opposition. From 2014 to 2024, France\u2019s foreign-born population <a href=\"https:\/\/tradingeconomics.com\/france\/foreign-born-population-eurostat-data.html\">increased<\/a> by over 20%. When faced with criticism, French President Macron has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/apr\/07\/macron-steps-up-warnings-over-french-far-right-before-first-round-vote\">denounced<\/a> Le Pen\u2019s popular calls for immigration reduction as \u201cvery clear xenophobia.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Macron\u2019s smears, like the labels in the media, are not limited to Le Pen \u2013 they are aimed at silencing dissent. This disregard for the will of the citizens has not drawn the ire of the European Union or been labeled a<em> <\/em>\u201cserious and lasting attack on the rules of democratic life in Europe.\u201d Instead, the destruction of political opponents appears in lockstep with the rest of the West.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the United States, beyond the well-known lawfare against President Trump, the global hegemon has weaponized the judicial system against those who resist its advocacy for forever wars, open borders, and economic fiefdom. The brazen persecutions of Steve Bannon, <a href=\"https:\/\/brownstone.org\/articles\/lessons-from-the-persecution-of-assange\/\">Julian Assange<\/a>, Roger Ver, <a href=\"https:\/\/brownstone.org\/articles\/letitia-james-vs-vdare-and-the-first-amendment\/\">Peter Brimelow<\/a>, and others have been designed to extinguish dissent and the democratization of power.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the United Kingdom, Tommy Robinson is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence for criticizing Great Britain\u2019s immigration policies. He was initially admitted to HMP Belmarsh, \u201cBritain\u2019s Guantanamo Bay,\u201d and prison guards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-14519367\/Tommy-Robinson-jail-moved-closed-wing-safety.html\">warned<\/a> last month that he may be killed by Muslim inmates.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Romania, Calin Georgescu, who won the first round of last year\u2019s presidential elections, has been barred from continuing his presidential campaign because prosecutors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c4g7w3v5vw7o\">charged him <\/a>for association with \u201cfascist, racist, or xenophobic characteristics.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the West, there is a \u201cserious\u201d and potentially \u201clasting attack on the rules of democratic life\u201d that the regime media has aided and abetted.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The West must decide: is democracy a slogan or a reality?
